Welcome to Room Twelve. Hi. We are a fabulous class of yr 3/4 learners at Te Akau ki Papamoa Primary School in the sunny Bay Of Plenty, New Zealand. We love to learn new things and we hope to share exciting discoveries on 'Our Blog.' Because our school is close to the beach we have adopted 'waves' to help us learn. We hope you enjoy our wave riding experiences.

Our Trip to Rotorua

On Monday we went to the Rotorua Museum. First we met George and Emma and then Emma took us to the mirror exhibition and told us to have fun and touch everything. Next we went to the bath house with our parents. A long time ago people used to go there to be cured. Then we went to the classroom to learn what is inside the earth. After that we watched a scary movie of Mt Tarawera erupting. Lastly we went to the Gallery to look at the rocks. It was such a cool, fun trip.

This year we have been learning about the seven waves. They help us learn. They are cool. They are special. Their names are communicate, think, vision, grow, learn, nurture and shine. We learnt about them. They have maori names. I like the shine wave the best.

In Room 12 we have been making ice blocks. We have done a lot of experimenting about them. We have put fruit in the ice blocks. It was delicious. People brought the fruit. We put bananas, plums and also blue berries in them. I am going to bring pineapples after Julie washes them.

"Hi I am Mr CB and I have come to ride the seven waves in Room Twelve. I am going to lead my learning by hanging out with all of the learners and their families. My goal is to help everyone learn about 'caring' as well."
